Boat Description
Altima 56 Pilothouse: A Custom Home on the Water
1. General Information
The Altima 56 Pilothouse is a robust, comfortable long-range cruiser built to order by Altima Yachts. At 17.63 m overall with a 5.28 m beam and a modest 1.42 m draft, she combines generous living space with access to shallower harbours. A 3,407 L fuel capacity and a 946 L water tank make her well suited to extended coastal cruising and liveaboard seasons.
Three staterooms, a master and forward VIP with queen berths and private heads, plus a guest cabin with twin singles, sleep family and friends comfortably. Altima was the first builder to introduce a dedicated day head on the main deck, so guests never need to go below. The 360-degree salon, full galley and flybridge entertaining area make her a true home away from home.
2. Construction and Design
The semi-displacement V hull has a full-length keel for directional stability and protection when grounding. It is hand-laminated fibreglass, solid glass below the waterline and PVC-cored above, with a bolted and bonded hull-to-deck joint and an epoxy barrier coat. High bulwarks and full walk-around side decks keep crew safe when handling lines.
Inside, 1.98 m headroom, teak or cherry joinery, granite counters and 80,000 BTU air conditioning create a warm, high-quality finish. Because Altima builds each boat individually, nearly any layout or equipment change is possible apart from moving bulkheads.
3. Key Features
Dual helm stations: Pilothouse and flybridge helms with hydraulic steering give excellent visibility in every condition.
Main-deck day head: An Altima innovation that adds convenience for guests during day trips.
Three-stateroom layout: Master and VIP suites with en-suite heads, plus a twin guest cabin.
Flybridge entertaining: L-shaped seating, a wet bar with sink and a large table make the flybridge a social hub.
Custom build: Owners tailor layout, finishes and engines, including an optional Caterpillar C18 upgrade.
4. Summary
The Altima 56 Pilothouse is aimed at cruising couples and families who spend long periods aboard and value comfort, seaworthiness and a personalised layout. It suits buyers looking for a lot of yacht for the money, with dual helms, three staterooms and a solid, semi-displacement hull ready for extended coastal passages.
