Boat Description

Altima 61 Pilothouse: Long-Range Comfort Built Your Way

1. General Information

The Altima 61 Pilothouse is the larger sister of the 56, stretched for more range, more storage and a longer waterline. With a 5.28 m beam, a 1.47 m draft and around 31.6 tonnes displacement, she offers a solid, sea-kindly ride, while a 4,542 L fuel capacity and Caterpillar power make her a capable long-distance cruiser for owners heading further afield.

Accommodation follows Altima's proven three-stateroom plan: a full-beam master and a forward VIP, each with a queen berth and private head, plus a twin-berth guest cabin. A main-deck day head, an open salon with 360-degree views and a well-equipped galley make daily life aboard easy.

2. Construction and Design

Like the 56, the 61 uses a hand-laminated fibreglass semi-displacement V hull with a full-length keel, solid glass below the waterline and PVC coring above for stiffness and insulation. The hull-to-deck joint is bolted and bonded, and high bulwarks with full walk-around decks add security offshore.

The interior offers 1.98 m headroom, fine wood joinery, granite surfaces, central vacuum and 80,000 BTU air conditioning. A larger 4.0 kW inverter and 17.5 kW generator support the extra systems a longer cruising yacht needs.

3. Key Features

Extended range: Greater fuel capacity than the 56 supports longer passages between ports.

Dual helm stations: Pilothouse and flybridge helms with hydraulic steering, plus an optional aft-deck docking station.

Main-deck day head: Altima's signature feature keeps guests on the main deck during the day.

Seaworthy hull: A full-length keel and semi-displacement form deliver a steady, confident ride in a chop.

4. Summary

The Altima 61 Pilothouse suits experienced owners planning long cruises or seasonal liveaboard life who want space, range and a yacht built around their preferences. It offers three-stateroom comfort, dual helms and a proven hull, appealing to buyers seeking a custom long-range flybridge pilothouse at a competitive price.
