Boat Description

American Tug 365: The Go-Anywhere Cruiser Built for Two

1. General Information

The American Tug 365 is a sturdy, efficient and wonderfully comfortable pilothouse cruiser, built by American Tug since 2016. Measuring 11.13 m overall with a 4.04 m beam and a modest 1.04 m draft, this semi-displacement explorer yacht is designed around a cruising couple, offering one spacious owner's cabin, a full galley, a comfortable saloon and an elevated pilothouse. Its CE Design Category A (Ocean) rating and generous tankage make it a capable long-distance coastal cruiser.

A single 380 hp Cummins diesel delivers a comfortable 12-knot cruise and a top speed of around 18 knots, while 1,514 litres of fuel give a range of roughly 900 nautical miles. With 454 litres of fresh water and a 170-litre holding tank, the 365 is well equipped for extended stays at anchor.

2. Construction and Design

The 365 is built in fibreglass (GRP) on a proven semi-displacement hull that combines a soft, stable ride with useful speed when needed. Its classic tug profile features a raised pilothouse, a flybridge-style upper deck, high bulwarks and secure side decks. Inside, rich sapele joinery, light upholstery and abundant windows create a warm, airy atmosphere, while the single-cabin layout frees up space for a larger galley, saloon and owner's cabin than most boats of this size can offer.

3. Key Features

900-nautical-mile range: 1,514 litres of fuel and an efficient single diesel let owners cover long distances between fuel stops.

Couple-focused layout: One generous owner's cabin with an island berth maximises comfort and storage for two people cruising for weeks at a time.

Raised pilothouse and upper deck: Excellent visibility from the helm and an open upper deck give flexible places to steer, relax and watch the scenery.

Shallow draft: At just 1.04 m, the 365 can explore shallow bays, rivers and inland waterways with ease.

Ocean-rated hull: CE Category A certification adds peace of mind on open-water crossings.

4. Summary

The American Tug 365 is aimed at cruising couples and retirees who want a seaworthy, economical and easy-to-handle boat for long coastal adventures. It suits owners who value range, comfort and a spacious single-cabin layout over guest capacity, and who want the timeless tug look with genuine go-anywhere ability.
