Boat Description
Anderson 31: The Flagship Built for Anything
1. General Information
The Anderson 31 is the largest and most capable hull from Anderson Custom Boats, first conceived in 2004 as a US Coast Guard inspected passenger-for-hire vessel on the North Shore of Oahu. At 9.45 m long with a 3.05 m beam, it is a spacious, powerful and supremely versatile platform with enough size that virtually any layout or equipment can be incorporated. Today these hulls work as commercial fishing platforms, charter fishing boats, dive boats serving tourists, agency fire boats and high-end sport boats. Sleeping three to five and carrying roughly 946 to 1,893 L of fuel, the Anderson 31 offers genuine offshore range, a commanding pilothouse and the load capacity to take on demanding jobs.
2. Construction and Design
Like every Anderson boat, the 31 is hand-built around a hand-laid fibreglass hull, with decks and cabin hand-constructed in fibreglass over wood and finished with non-skid surfacing. A dry weight of around 4,082 to 4,536 kg, a 0.61 m hull draft and a broad 3.05 m beam give the boat a solid, stable feel in open water and the capacity for heavy commercial payloads or large groups of passengers. The pilothouse or centre console layout can be tailored to the mission, whether that means a dive deck and passenger seating, fish holds and work gear, fire-fighting equipment or a refined sport-boat fit-out. Power options include twin outboards, gas or diesel sterndrives, or a diesel inboard.
3. Key Features
Largest Anderson hull: A 9.45 m length and 3.05 m beam provide space for almost any commercial or private configuration.
Proven in passenger service: First built as a Coast Guard inspected passenger-for-hire boat in Hawaii.
Multi-role platform: Used for commercial and charter fishing, dive tourism, agency fire boats and sport boating.
Long range: Fuel capacity of roughly 946 to 1,893 L supports extended offshore operations.
Twin-engine power: Twin outboards, gas or diesel sterndrives, or a diesel inboard can be specified.
4. Summary
The Anderson 31 is aimed at operators and owners who need maximum capability from a custom-built boat: charter captains, commercial fishermen, dive operators, public agencies and discerning private owners who want a high-end sport boat with commercial-grade toughness. It answers the need for space, payload, range and a fully customised layout. For buyers seeking a flagship pilothouse with a proven working pedigree, the Anderson 31 sets the benchmark.
