1. General Information

The Aquila 36 Sport is an award-winning, versatile and remarkably stable power catamaran, and the model that launched Aquila's Sport range in 2017. Measuring 10.96 m overall with a 4.45 m beam, it combines sport-boat handling with the space of a much larger monohull, carrying up to 22 passengers in sheltered waters. It is offered in standard, cruiser-package and dedicated fishing and diving versions.

On deck, forward cockpit seating for eight converts into two large sunbeds, the starboard helm seats two with further passenger seating alongside, and a galley with Corian worktop, 85 L fridge-freezer and sink serves a port-side settee and table. Convertible aft seating can face forward or aft. Below, two private cabins each have an en-suite shower and fresh-water electric toilet, turning day trips into overnight escapes, while 1,250 L of fuel provides useful range.

2. Construction and Design

Aquila builds the 36 Sport with a resin-infused hull, deck and bulkheads in vinylester for strength, stiffness and corrosion resistance, with solid FRP lamination along the hull centrelines and through-hulls and a UV-resistant NPG gelcoat. Hull and deck windows use high-quality acrylic meeting ISO standards.

Twin Mercury Verado outboards with joystick piloting make docking simple, while the optional Aquila Hydro Glide® foil, developed with catamaran and foil specialists Morrelli & Melvin, improves efficiency, with the builder citing fuel-economy gains of up to 40%. A fully enclosed version is also available for cooler climates.
