Boat Description
Aquila 45 Sport: SUV Styling, Supercar Pace
1. General Information
The Aquila 45 Sport is a bold, wide-beam centre-console power catamaran and the flagship of Aquila's reimagined Sport range. It made its world debut at the 2026 Miami International Boat Show and measures 14.17 m overall with a 4.57 m beam that opens to 5.88 m when the fold-out side terraces are deployed. Twin 600 hp Mercury Verado V12 outboards drive a double-stepped hull to a builder-quoted top speed above 50 mph, with efficient cruising at 38–40 mph.
The layout is built for entertaining: bow seating for four, a four-seat helm, a wet bar with fridge and sink, and an aft cockpit with convertible U-shaped seating and a high-low table that becomes a social space nearly 5.9 m wide with the terraces open. A sliding console door leads below to a private cabin with a king-size bed and a wet head with shower. With 1,514 L of fuel and seating for 15, it suits day charters, dive trips and weekend escapes alike.
2. Construction and Design
Aquila builds the 45 Sport with vinylester resin infused throughout the hull, deck, bulkheads and reinforcement, PVC cores matched to the loads and an NPG gelcoat, with no plywood in structural components or below the waterline. Watertight bulkheads fore and aft and a double-stepped twin hull deliver stability, a dry ride and strong fuel efficiency.
The styling draws on contemporary luxury SUVs, with sharp lines and a broad fibreglass hardtop prepared for optional roof racks for paddleboards and kayaks, plus an optional shade system for the cockpit. Connectivity is a highlight: owners can control underwater and LED lighting, C-Zone systems, Raymarine navigation, Mercury engines and the Fusion stereo from a smart device.
3. Key Features
Fold-out terraces: Side terraces widen the aft cockpit to 5.88 m, creating one of the largest social spaces in its class.
Double-stepped hull performance: Builder figures quote about 57 mph flat out and efficient cruising at 38–40 mph.
Private king cabin: A lockable cabin with full-size king bed and a wet head with electric toilet and shower.
Smart-device control: Lighting, C-Zone systems, navigation, engines and audio can all be managed from a phone or tablet.
Easy water access: A custom slide-out stainless boarding ladder makes swimming and diving simple.
4. Summary
The Aquila 45 Sport is aimed at owners and charter operators who want a fast, stable and spectacular entertaining platform for day trips, water sports and occasional overnights. It suits buyers moving up from a monohull centre console who value twin-hull stability, huge social space and up-to-date onboard technology.
