Boat Description
Aquila 47 Molokai: Canyon-Run Fishing, Overnight Comfort
1. General Information
The Aquila 47 Molokai is a big, fast and remarkably refined centre-console power catamaran that Aquila describes as the first of its kind: a tournament-grade fishing machine with a genuine overnight cabin. Launched in 2023, it measures 14.62 m overall with a 4.41 m beam and carries CE Category B offshore certification, built for long runs to the canyons, banks and islands.
Inside the console, a sliding door leads to a cabin with a queen-size island berth, and a pantograph door opens onto a separate head with shower. On deck, a 360-degree walk-around layout, a forward casting platform, twin 161 L transom livewells, a 1,930 L mid-deck fish box, a 1,930 L forward coffin box and a 378 L aft fish box make it a serious sport-fishing platform, while seating for 17 and an optional summer kitchen turn it into an entertainer. A huge 3,960 L of fuel provides exceptional range.
2. Construction and Design
Aquila builds the 47 Molokai with a vinylester resin-infused hull and deck over an infused fibreglass grid, using carbon fibre for the primary forward and aft structural bulkheads and for the hardtop to save weight and add stiffness. Watertight bulkheads fore and aft and an NPG gelcoat complete a structure designed for high-speed offshore running.
A double-stepped twin hull with high tunnel clearance delivers an air-cushioned, efficient ride and reduced hull noise when trolling. Expansive hull-side acrylic windows bring light into the cabin, port and starboard boarding and dive doors ease water access, and full C-Zone digital switching, Stidd helm seating and Raymarine electronics give the helm a professional feel.
3. Key Features
Overnight cabin: A queen-size island berth and a full head with shower, rare on a centre-console fishing boat.
Carbon fibre structure: Carbon bulkheads and hardtop add strength and rigidity while saving weight.
Tournament fishability: 360-degree walk-around deck, casting platform, pressurised livewells and huge fish boxes.
Big-bore outboard options: Twin Mercury V12 600 hp or quad V10 400 hp or 425 hp, with Racing 400R and 500R on request.
Long range: 3,960 L of fuel for extended offshore runs.
4. Summary
The Aquila 47 Molokai is aimed at serious anglers, tournament teams and charter operators who want to run far offshore at speed and stay out overnight in comfort. It also suits owners who want a premium, stable entertaining platform that can switch from fishing to family cruising without compromise.
