Boat Description
Axis A24: Big Wakes, Big Crew, Big Value
1. General Information
Introduced for 2021, the Axis A24 is the largest model in the Axis Wake Research range, the value-focused sister brand of Malibu Boats. At 7.44 m overall with a 2.59 m beam and seating for 18, this flagship ski and wakeboard boat delivers the biggest wakes and surf waves in the Axis line while keeping its starting price remarkably competitive.
It is the natural choice for large families, groups of friends and serious riders who want tournament-style wakes without stepping up to a premium-brand price. As an open day boat it has no cabin; instead the space goes to a spacious pickle-fork bow, plush wraparound seating and deep storage for boards and gear. A 288 L fuel tank supports long days of wakesurfing, wakeboarding and cruising on lakes and sheltered waters.
2. Construction and Design
The A24 is built in fibreglass on a modified-vee wake hull with around 10 cm of extra freeboard compared with the smaller Axis models, giving a drier ride and deeper storage. With a dry weight of about 2,360 kg, it carries 1,733 kg of factory water ballast; deploying the Power Wedge III hydrofoil raises the effective figure to roughly 2,413 kg, so the boat can throw a large, well-shaped wake and wave.
Inside, the layout is all about function and comfort: Soft Grip flooring, plenty of cup holders, a built-in bin, flip-up Chill-Ax seats and a rear-facing sliding Skybox seat that turns the stern into a viewing stand for the rider. A Wet Sounds audio package and a clean touch-screen dash complete a practical, sociable cockpit.
3. Key Features
Malibu Monsoon power: The standard Monsoon M5Di inboard of around 350 hp drives through a V-drive, with the 6.2 L M6Di and supercharged LT4 available for even more torque.
Surf Gate and Surf Band: Malibu's Surf Gate shapes the surf wave, and the Axis-exclusive Surf Band lets the rider switch sides from a wrist remote.
Power Wedge III: The adjustable hydrofoil adds the effect of extra ballast and lets riders fine-tune wake size and shape.
Seating for 18: The pickle-fork bow, wraparound lounges and sliding Skybox seat give a big crew room to ride and relax.
AW20 tower: A low-folding tower with an optional shock package raises the tow point and folds down easily for storage.
4. Summary
The Axis A24 is aimed at buyers who want the biggest wakes and the most space in the Axis family at a price well below premium wake boats. It suits large families, ride crews and owners stepping up from a 20- or 22-footer who need room for a crowd and plenty of gear. With Malibu engineering, push-button wave controls and seating for 18, it is a capable, crowd-pleasing flagship for lake life.
