Boat Description
Bass Cat Jaguar STS: The Flagship 22-Foot Tournament Bass Boat
1. General Information
The Bass Cat Jaguar STS is the flagship of the Bass Cat line-up: a 6.7-metre (22') fibreglass bass boat built for anglers who want the biggest, most capable boat the brand makes. Relaunched in 2019 as a complete reboot of the original Jaguar, it was the first model to use Bass Cat's STS (Soft Touch Series) running surface, the hull concept later carried across to the Puma STS and Lynx STS.
The ideal owner is a dedicated tournament angler or serious freshwater fisherman who regularly runs big, open water and long distances between spots. The extra length and 2.39-metre beam deliver a confident ride when the wind builds, while a 1,000 kg hull and high-horsepower outboard rating give strong, sustained performance. Two 121-litre fuel tanks (around 242 litres in total) provide genuine long-range capability for full tournament days. As an open fishing platform there is no cabin; every part of the deck is organised for casting, storing tackle and landing fish.
2. Construction and Design
Bass Cat builds the Jaguar STS with 100% fibreglass construction, a foam-filled stringer system and vinyl ester resin on 60% of the outer laminate for durability and resistance to water absorption. The redesigned big-body hull is engineered to handle waves smoothly, and the interior has been refreshed throughout. Styling cues are shared with the newer Lynx STS, including billet aluminium hand rails and vents, a high-output LED docking light and LED safety and wake lights. Long rod boxes (2.74 m to port and 2.59 m to starboard), insulated ice chests and deck lids, Plano tackle trays and Wave Crusher seats combine practicality with comfort, and a tandem-axle trailer with braked Torqueflex axles and a swing-away tongue is supplied as standard.
3. Key Features
Flagship 22-foot hull: The longest boat in the range offers the most deck space and the most composed ride in rough water.
STS running surface: The Soft Touch Series hull, first introduced on this model, balances speed with a softer, drier ride.
Long-range fuel capacity: Twin 121-litre tanks carry around 242 litres for extended runs across big water.
Extra-long rod storage: Rod boxes of up to 2.74 m take long tournament rods with ease.
Tournament-ready fit-out: Recent model years include a Minn Kota Fortrex 112 trolling motor, twin Humminbird Helix 7 units, an 8-inch Slidemaster jackplate and a JL Audio media centre.
4. Summary
The Bass Cat Jaguar STS is aimed at anglers who want the very best Bass Cat builds, with no compromise on size, range or rough-water ability. It suits professional and aspiring tournament competitors, team anglers fishing large reservoirs and big lakes, and enthusiasts who value premium materials and meticulous detailing. For buyers seeking a flagship American bass boat with real presence, generous storage and a factory-matched trailer, the Jaguar STS sits at the very top of the range.
