Boat Description

Bass Cat Pantera II: The Pace-Setting Bass Boat Icon

1. General Information

The Bass Cat Pantera II is one of the most famous bass boats ever built and, according to Bass Cat, the most manufactured model in bass fishing. Introduced in 1988, it was so popular that boats sold straight off the delivery trucks. Measuring 5.82 metres (19' 1") with a 2.36-metre beam, it has kept its proven hull largely unchanged while gaining updates and refinements over the decades.

The Pantera II is ideal for hometown tournament competitors, club anglers and weekend bass fishermen who want an efficient, dry and quick boat that holds its own against rivals running larger engines. Rated for up to 200 hp, it offers lively performance, and a 125-litre fuel tank provides solid range; the Special Package version adds a kicker tank for extra capacity. As an open bass boat there is no cabin; the raised deck and storage are dedicated to fishing.

2. Construction and Design

The Pantera II is built with a 100% fibreglass hull and a foam-filled stringer system. Its layout features dual rod lockers, each 2.44 metres long, positioned outboard of two storage compartments, and a raised front deck that suits most waters. Pump-in/pump-out livewells with automatic and manual aeration, a large insulated ice chest with sandwich tray, insulated deck lids and Reflex rod pads keep the boat organised. An 8-inch Slidemaster jackplate, tilt hydraulic steering, a Minn Kota Fortrex 80 trolling motor and two Humminbird Xplore 9 units come as standard, along with an EZ Loader tandem-axle trailer with brakes.

3. Key Features

Legendary hull: A proven design since 1988, valued for being efficient, dry and quick.

Dual rod lockers: Two 2.44-metre rod boxes sit outboard of central storage compartments.

Raised front deck: Provides an elevated, confident casting platform on most waters.

Efficient performance: Keeps pace with rivals running larger engines while rated for up to 200 hp.

Special Package option: Adds custom colours, a colour-matched Bass Cat trailer, upgraded electronics and extra fuel capacity.

4. Summary

The Bass Cat Pantera II is aimed at anglers who want a time-tested, competitive bass boat with an iconic reputation. It suits local and club tournament anglers, weekend fishermen and buyers who value proven performance, practical storage and strong resale appeal. For those seeking a classic 19-foot bass boat that still sets the pace, the Pantera II remains a benchmark.
