Boat Description
Crestliner 1800 Bay: A Tough, Agile Aluminium Centre Console Bay Boat
1. General Information
The Crestliner 1800 Bay is a 5.64-metre all-welded aluminium centre console bay boat that brings the layout of a classic fibreglass bay boat to a lighter, tougher, lower-maintenance hull. Built from 2021 to 2025, it seats up to four people and was sold as a package with a Mercury outboard, giving inshore and freshwater anglers a fast, agile platform for bays, estuaries, big rivers and lakes. A wide 2.44-metre beam, a shallow 0.4-metre draft and an open bow casting deck make it equally suited to sight-fishing the flats, drifting for redfish or trout, or working weed lines for bass and walleye. As an open day boat, it focuses on fishability, storage and an efficient, easy-to-tow package.
2. Construction and Design
The hull is all-welded aluminium with a full-length extruded welded keel, welded chine extrusions, six formed strakes and formed spray rails, finished in durable urethane paint. A 10-degree deadrise keeps the boat stable at rest and quick to plane in shallow water, while wood-free construction and a Crest-Liner interior coating make the cockpit tough, quiet and easy to clean. At the heart of the layout is a fibreglass centre console with instrument panel, windscreen, stainless grab handle, room for top-mounted electronics and vertical storage for six rods, plus no-feedback steering. Around it, a bow casting deck with storage underneath, a leaning post with fold-down footrest and stern jump seats make good use of every metre, and the 80-litre fuel tank and roughly 550 kg dry weight keep running and towing costs modest.
3. Key Features
Fibreglass Centre Console – Instrument panel, windscreen, 12V outlet, space for top-mount electronics and six vertical rod holders keep the helm organised.
21-Gallon Aerated Livewell – A stern livewell of roughly 79 litres with timer and recirculating system keeps bait and catch lively.
Comfortable Seating for Four – A forward 48-quart cooler seat with SeaDek cushion and backrest, a leaning post with footrest, a deluxe pedestal seat and stern jump seats.
Generous Rod and Gear Storage – Port and starboard quick-access racks take two 10-foot rods each, alongside lockable bow storage and compartments under the jump seats.
Trolling Motor Ready – A bow trolling motor outlet with wiring harness and in-console battery storage simplify rigging for precision fishing.
4. Summary
The Crestliner 1800 Bay suits inshore and freshwater anglers who want the versatility of a centre console bay boat with the durability and low upkeep of welded aluminium. Its shallow draft, stable hull, well-equipped console and thoughtful storage make it a practical choice for small crews fishing bays, estuaries, rivers and lakes.
