The Crestliner 1860 Retriever Jon Deluxe is a 5.49-metre all-welded aluminium tiller jon boat that works as hard for bass anglers as it does for duck hunters. The Deluxe trim adds lockable bow storage and a 16-gallon aerated livewell to the proven Retriever Jon hull, turning a tough utility boat into a capable fishing platform. With a 2.16-metre beam, seating for six and a 753 kg maximum weight capacity, it carries a full crew, dogs, decoys and tackle. Rated for tiller outboards from 20 to 75 hp, with jet-drive options for skinny water, it is an open day boat built for marshes, backwaters, rivers and shallow lakes.
2. Construction and Design
The hull is all-welded marine aluminium with 2.54 mm (0.100-inch) plating on the bottom, sides and transom, with an optional 3.18 mm (0.125-inch) hull gauge upgrade for owners who want extra toughness. A full-length extruded welded keel, extra-strength extruded ribs and cross and side rib construction add rigidity, while a shallow 3.5-degree deadrise and 1.52-metre chine width create a flat, stable platform for standing to cast or shoot. Six formed strakes and formed spray rails aid tracking, and the flat aluminium floor, wood-free construction, compartment seals and level flotation keep the boat durable and low-maintenance. At around 340 kg dry without an engine, it is easy to tow and launch.
