Boat Description

Crestliner 1870 Retriever FCC: A Shallow-Water Tunnel-Hull Jet Boat with Forward Centre Console

1. General Information

The Crestliner 1870 Retriever FCC is a 5.49-metre all-welded aluminium forward-centre-console boat built on a jet tunnel hull, designed to reach the shallow, rocky and weedy water that conventional boats cannot. Among the newest additions to the Retriever series, it is aimed at river anglers, waterfowl hunters and outdoors enthusiasts who need to run skinny water confidently. A 2.44-metre beam, seating for seven and a 736 kg maximum weight capacity provide room for a full crew and gear, while the forward console gives the driver a clear line of sight to read the water ahead. It is rated for jet outboards from 65 to 105 hp.

2. Construction and Design

The all-welded aluminium tunnel-jet hull uses 2.54 mm (0.100-inch) plating on the bottom, sides and transom, with an optional 3.18 mm (0.125-inch) hull gauge for extra protection on rocky shorelines. A full-length extruded welded keel, extra-strength extruded ribs, cross and side rib construction, six formed strakes and formed spray rails add strength and tracking, while the shallow 3.5-degree deadrise and 1.78-metre chine width give a flat, stable platform. A 0.69-metre transom suits jet outboards, and the flat aluminium floor, wood-free construction, compartment seals and level flotation keep the boat durable and easy to maintain. The forward-mounted aluminium console carries six vertical rod holders, toggle switches, a 12V outlet and space for top-mounted electronics.

3. Key Features

Jet Tunnel Hull – Lets the boat run and manoeuvre in extremely shallow water, reaching spots other boats cannot.

Forward Centre Console – Improves visibility ahead and holds six rods vertically alongside switches and electronics space.

17-Gallon Aerated Livewell – A bow livewell of roughly 64 litres keeps bait and catch in good condition.

Spacious Bow Storage – Dual port and starboard compartments with snap latches keep gear secure and dry.

Seven-Person Capacity – Room for a full crew, with a box seat, stern platform and service compartment.

4. Summary

The Crestliner 1870 Retriever FCC suits river anglers and hunters who need to get into the shallowest, rockiest water with confidence. Its welded tunnel-jet hull, forward console visibility, livewell and storage make it a rugged, versatile choice for rivers, backwaters and marshes.
