Crestliner 2250 Authority: A 23-Foot Aluminium Fishing Boat Built for Big Water
1. General Information
The Crestliner 2250 Authority is a 6.99-metre all-welded aluminium dual-console fishing boat designed for large lakes and rough, choppy water. Sitting at the top of Crestliner's big-water range, it combines a deep, high-sided hull with a 2.59-metre beam and room for up to ten people. Serious anglers chasing walleye, salmon, muskie or trout get two insulated, timed livewells, lockable rod storage for long rods and plenty of dry storage, while the walk-through windscreen and comfortable seating make it equally pleasant for a day out with family. It takes outboards from 200 to 400 hp, including Mercury V10 Verado power.
2. Construction and Design
The hull is a four-piece all-welded aluminium structure with a variable-degree deadrise of 17 degrees at the transom, a full-length extruded welded keel and a full-length welded reverse chine extrusion with spray deflector for a drier ride. Plating is 3.18 mm (0.125-inch) on the bottom and transom and 2.29 mm (0.090-inch) on the sides, and the transom is wood-free. A cockpit depth of 0.77 metres and a maximum hull depth of 1.26 metres keep the crew secure in big waves. The extruded gunnel carries Crestliner's SureMount and J-Hook accessory systems, the cockpit has treated-panel vinyl flooring, and the baked Armor-Guard paint finish adds durability. Dry weight without an engine is around 987 kg.
