Boat Overview
Boat Description
Crownline 280 CRX
1. General Information
The Crownline 280 CRX is an outboard-powered cruiser with an 8.51 m hull and a trailerable 2.59 m beam. It brings a full cabin, galley and enclosed head to a boat that can be towed, making it a good fit for couples and families who want to stay aboard overnight and explore new waters.
2. Construction and Design
The fibreglass hull runs a 19° deadrise with a 100% composite transom rated up to 500 hp, and outboard power frees up space inside the hull. A Moonstone aluminium arch with LED lights folds down electrically, while the cabin features a full fibreglass liner with hardwood accents, a forward V-berth and a midship berth. Crownline's patented electric assist swim platform lowers into the water with a grab handle and a four-step boarding ladder.
3. Key Features
Power: A Mercury Verado 350 XL with DTS and electronic hydraulic steering as standard, with twin-engine options up to 500 hp.
Galley and head: Cabinetry with sink, refrigerator and electric stove, plus a porcelain electric-flush toilet with a 95 L holding tank, shower and vanity.
Climate and power: 8,000 BTU air conditioning and heating, twin 30 amp shore-power inlets and a battery management panel with VSR charging.
Cockpit: An aft electric sunbed with trunk storage, solid-surface countertops, a portable cockpit table and a Wet Sounds premium stereo.
Helm and anchoring: Twin Garmin 7" touchscreens with LakeVü and BlueChart charts, trim tabs, a windscreen wiper, and a windlass with rope, chain and a 6 kg stainless plough anchor.
4. Summary
With a 2026 US base price of $199,995, the Crownline 280 CRX combines outboard simplicity with genuine overnight comfort in a trailerable cruiser, suiting owners who want to tow to new cruising grounds and stay aboard.
