1. General Information

The 280 SS Surf is the surf and wake version of Crownline's 280 SS bowrider, built on the same 8.51 m deep-vee hull. It combines a roomy U-shaped cockpit and an enclosed head with a forward-facing drive, ballast and wake-shaping tabs, so the same boat can cover longer runs on big water and still throw a surfable wake.

2. Construction and Design

The fibreglass hull runs a 23° deadrise with a 2.59 m beam and a 100% composite transom rated up to 430 hp. The forward-facing drive keeps the propellers under the hull and away from riders. A Gen 2 Moonstone arch with electric fold-down, sun top and LED lights carries the board racks and tower speakers, while an electric aft sun lounge with dual actuators sits above the engine bay and the console houses a head with granite-topped vanity and opening portlight.

Surf system: Three quick-disconnect ballast bags totalling 680 kg, Wake Worx Super Surf'r 17" trim tabs and twin 7" surf touchscreens.
