1. General Information

The Crownline 290 XSS is an 8.79 m outboard bowrider in the XSS Series, measuring 9.55 m with the engine fitted. It paired pointed-bow styling and a 23° deep-V hull with 400 hp of V10 Verado power, an electric fold-down arch and a fully appointed head, and has since been succeeded by the 298 XSS.

2. Construction and Design

The fibreglass hull runs a 23° deadrise on a 2.59 m beam, with a 100% composite transom rated up to 400 hp. A Gen 2 aluminium arch with cast corners, tinted glass inserts, sun top and LED lighting folds down electrically, and the console houses a head with electric flush and holding tank, a granite-topped vanity with vessel sink and upper cabinet, and an opening portlight.

3. Key Features

Power: A Mercury V10 400 Verado XL with Digital Throttle and Shift as standard, which is also the maximum rating.

Helm: Twin Garmin 7" touchscreens with LakeVü G3 and BlueChart G3 charts, trim tabs with indicators and Gen 2 flip-up bucket seats with fingertip slide and swivel.

Anchoring: A windlass with rope and chain and a stainless steel plough anchor as standard.

Comfort and audio: An electric aft sun lounge with dual actuators, LED underwater transom lighting, a portable side-mount table and a Wet Sounds premium stereo with eight speakers and a transom LCD remote.

Trailer: An aluminium trailer with Dexter torsion axles, brakes and a V-block for the windlass comes as standard.
