<p></p><p>Much faster and stonger than new. &nbsp;Custom reconstructed over a three year period by the Art Lilly racing legend team, Lilly Sport Boats (LSB) in Arnold, MD. &nbsp;(Google their home page if unfamiliar to you.) &nbsp;Because&nbsp;the old Alpha drive train had aged and I was dissatisfied, I took my boat to LSB and the entire old drive train was tossed out, the engine compartment was completely gutted down to the hull. &nbsp;The stringers were replaced with heavy duty modern materials, the transom seriously thickened, everything was fiberglassed and painted with Imron white. &nbsp;The outside stern got a custom, black paint job. &nbsp;The engine compartment is immaculate and still gleams like the day I brought it home. &nbsp;The replacement power train (the entertainment package) included a new Mercruizer freshwater-cooled 383 stroker, new heavy duty Mercruizer transom mount, a Bravo One XZ outdrive, ultra-strong racing Imco 1.50 geared lower unit, Mercury Mercruizer prop (Bravo 1, 15 1/4, 22P #48-831909 LH), and Mercury 280S K-Plane trim tabs. &nbsp;Of course with this amount of power and speed the steering was upgraded to hydraulic. &nbsp;LSB also added a water hose connection inside the engine compartment which greatly simplified flushing the outdrive after use to prevent corrosion. &nbsp;The boat was professionally detailed last month and the Gelcoat on the top and sides reflect images like a mirror (see photos). &nbsp;The boat has always resided on a lift and covered except when pulled for service at LSB or for it's&nbsp;annual detail done onland in our driveway. &nbsp;The exhast gurgles out just below the water line when stopped and goes to straight exhaust at 6-8 knots. &nbsp;At idle, the cammed loping sound of this motor always turns heads and will entrance those who love things that go fast. &nbsp;At speed it sounds like a big block American race car. &nbsp;I cut no corners and spared no expense to build this boat right. &nbsp;This Donzi has $28,000 worth of new parts alone, not including the labor or the original boat itself.</p>
<p>When we had time, my wife and I used the Donzi to go to nearby pull-up restaurants and made one trip each to Rock Hall and Tolchester. &nbsp;One day when the bay was calm, we made it from Rock Creek in Riviera Beach to Hard Yaght Cafe in 15 minutes. &nbsp;Sadly and due to two deployments to Iraq in the past four years, we've only used the Donzi for a Summer and a half.</p>
<p>I had all the mechanicals done to the highest standard. &nbsp;The only things I haven't gotten to is the cuddy cabin. &nbsp;The headliner is sagging and the floor carpet should be replaced which I intended to do myself. &nbsp;The seats show some signs of their life, though not bad, and it needs a new engine-cover pad. &nbsp;I removed the old-school wind screen which had cracked on the left side and tended to show the age of the boat despite all the other renovation. &nbsp;I have not yet had the top repainted where the windshield was mounted. &nbsp;The folks at LSB have an option to mount a new wind screen/wind deflector which will update the appearance...I just didn't get that far this year. &nbsp;If you do buy this Donzi, take it to LSB for service because they know everything about this boat since they custom built and maintained it. &nbsp;I will send more photos to your email if wanted.</p>
<p>As of this Summer, the trailer has all new wiring with a four-pin connector and water-proof LED lights (last photo).</p>
<p>So you understand how much I cared about this boat, I put in a $14,000 lift next to our pier to preserve the glass hull and planned to own this boat forever. &nbsp;Due a back injury, I have recently and reluctantly conceeded to my better-half that at our age we need to get a larger boat with a stateroom, galley and head. &nbsp;That is the only reason the boat I love is for sale. &nbsp;This Donzi is worth every penny and you probably won't find another one built as strong as this one. &nbsp;Though one of my close friends is a broker, I'm selling without him but will use broker rules. &nbsp;To get a sea trial I will ask for a non-binding contract and a bank check for 10% and you will bring both along during the trial. &nbsp;If you like the boat after the sea trial then we will close and the boat is yours. &nbsp;If you don't like it, you will walk away with your bank check and the contract, no problems.</p><p></p>
