Boat Overview
Boat Description
Exactly 200 units of the Hallberg-Rassy 37 were created 2003-2012. She is a well-built long distance cruiser with great comfort. The centre cockpit is very well protected by the Hallberg-Rassy typical wind screen. There is a good aft deck, making movement on deck easy. Her interior layout allows for an airy aft cabin, well separated from the saloon, yet easily accessible. The big engine room even allows for installation of a power generator. Her tankage is generous for long range cruising. The woodwork is crafted by experienced boat builders.
The rig is slightly fractional but still with forward and aft lowers, combining stability and flexibility. The spreaders do not disturb the mainsail when sailing downwind over the oceans. As an option, it is possible to fly a masthead gennaker from a removable bow sprit.
Hallberg-Rassy 37 ”Shira” has won ARC+ overall out of 49 boats. ARC+ is a rally over the Atlantic from Gran Canaria via Cape Verdes to St Lucia in the Caribbean. The Hallberg-Rassy 37 was first on corrected time on both legs as well as overall. A warm congratulation to the winners Marita and Rune Lindberg from Sweden.
