<p>Hallberg-Rassy 94 Kutter was built for fourteen years between 1981 and 1994. A total of 195 hulls were built. The Hallberg-Rassy 94 Kutter is a charming motor sailor and a departure from the range of other Hallberg-Rassy yachts. The hull reminds of the beautiful lines of a traditional Swedish fishing boat, but has a more pronounced keel. The 94 has a fuller hull than other Hallberg-Rassy designs from this era and a canoe stern and a full keel.</p><p>The cockpit has a steering house, which has been available in two different versions with different angling of the wind screen. The sail area is rather moderate for a 31 footer but she sails surprisingly well for her type. She tacks well even in a light breeze without help of the engine. There are Hallberg-Rassy 94s who have crossed the Atlantic. The Volvo Penta engine is generous. The interior has four very good berths and ample of stowage.</p>

Taniwha can be considered a Southern Wind smart custom yacht with strong character and an elegant and unmistakable style.</p><p>SW105 GT yacht Taniwha offers a light configuration with a generous sail plan; she features a lifting keel with a 3.8 to 5.9m draft that includes a reduced bulb weight resulting in a fine-tuned balance between upwind and downwind performance. SW105 GT has a full carbon hull and Nomex and prepreg foredeck and cockpit. The SW105 GT is a fast bluewater sailboat devoted to performance. To optimise weight savings the owner implemented materials that are high-tech and lightweight both in the interior and exterior. The hydraulic and electric power-management systems are carefully engineered and designed for a lightweight and efficient yacht.</p><p>SW105 GT yacht Taniwha has a completely new deck layout, carefully conceived by Nauta Design to meet the owner’s brief. When compared to our SW105 DS and RS models, the SW105 GT has a wider cockpit area on a single level. The helm positions have been moved closer to the gunwales for better views forward and aloft.</p><p>The SW105 GT’s interior will feature Southern Wind’s most popular owner’s cabin forward. Aft of the saloon SW105 Taniwha has two cabins, an en suite VIP cabin with a walk-around bed, and a second en suite twin guest cabin. A day head and studio are placed forward of the saloon. With a deep sofa and a large desk, this space can convert to an en suite double cabin. The crew area aft is an efficient working environment for five. The owners contributed greatly to the yacht’s interior decoration where the main challenge was to keep the furniture as lightweight as possible while still allowing for the small details that make a yacht “home-like”. Particular attention was paid to choosing eco-friendly materials.</p>

<p>The Hallberg-Rassy 64 is a blue water cruiser for yachting connoisseurs. A flagship, manageable by a family crew. The enormous 8.6 cubic meters aft deck lockers may store a RIB dinghy. There is a large hydraulic fold out bathing platform.&nbsp;An optional retractable gangway can be folded away into the lazarette. Together with the cockpit locker and the anchor locker in front there is 10.1 cubic meters of deck storage.</p><p>The deck is clean and uncluttered. All skylights and hatches are flush mounted. There is a sun deck integrated into the aft cabin roof. The anchor winch is concealed under the deck level. There are options for hydraulic under-deck cutterstay furler and under-deck genoa furler. There are in total eight mooring cleats on the top of the toe rail, of which the spring cleats are double on each side.</p><p>The cockpit is unusually large; 3.10 m long, that's 55 cm longer than on the Hallberg-Rassy 62. There is a large, fixed, teak cockpit table. All essential sailing control functions are handled from the cockpit by a single sailor using the push of buttons already as standard equipment. Optionally there is a hydraulic cutter stay and even a hydraulic code zero or furling gennaker available, furling at the push of buttons from the cockpit. The washboard is elegantly and easily lowered into a hidden storage. The cockpit is very well protected by the Hallberg-Rassy typical soft top wind screen or hard top.</p><p>Below deck living areas have lots of natural light. All in all there are no less than thirty-one (31) portlights and skylights in the boat. There are six hull windows. Hull windows were introduced by Hallberg-Rassy back in 1976. You will look out through the four hull windows when sitting down and a person of normal length will look out through the large saloon portlights when standing up. The interior offers twelve choices in 5 sections, creating layouts available for all tastes and needs.</p><p>The engine is unusually well sized, even for a Hallberg-Rassy. It is a 6 cylinder Volvo Penta D6-300 with 300 HP and has 669 Newton meter torque at 2&nbsp;500 RPM. Tanks are generous too for long range with 1&nbsp;800 liters of diesel fuel and 1&nbsp;300 liters of fresh water. In calm water with a clean underwater body, the fuel consumption at 1600 RPM and 7 knots is 7 liters per hour, one liter per nautical mile, which means around 1 800 nautical miles range!</p>

<p></p><p>General<br>&nbsp;<br>All of the equipment on board is the best quality that could be purchased at the time of construction.&nbsp; This boat has equipment you can rely on.<br>&nbsp;<br>The boat was purchased when our family was young with safety in mind. Every through hull was reinforced with many layers of fiber glass and resin and have never leaked. &nbsp;The bilge is dry and has never had any water in it.<br>&nbsp;<br>The boat is currentlly powered by an inboard Volvo Penta D3, &nbsp;3 cylinder 28HP diesel engine.<br>I replaced the old salt water cooled Volvo MD2B engine about 8 years ago with the new D3 engine.&nbsp; It is a perfect match for this size boat and is in excellent condition with only 32 hrs. (yes just 32 hrs.) of run time.&nbsp; Since I have gotten a bit older all I do these days is bay sail and hardly ever use the engine other to get in or out of the marina.&nbsp; I have had no issues with this engine..<br>&nbsp;<br>Exterior of boat<br>&nbsp;<br>The center cockpit is a big advantage in a 35 foot boat because it provides lots more cabin room below as well as keeping passengers and crew up higher and hence dry.&nbsp; The steering wheel placement is really nice because it makes it comfortable to steer the boat while leaving plenty of “move around” room for lounging and handling lines for the sails.&nbsp; The center cockpit stainless steel steering wheel is surrounded by a stainless steel pulpit with a grab rail.&nbsp; This prevents people from grabbing onto the wheel to steady themselves and makes entrance to below decks easier.&nbsp; There is a teak cup holder that fits on this grab rail.<br>&nbsp;<br>There are two teak open face compartments in the cockpit for line storage, teak trim around each of the two hatches, and teak doors leading below deck. This allows for minimal upkeep on the outside of the boat and more time for sailing. The dodger cockpit cover and the extension Bimini keeps sun (and rain if we every have any) off&nbsp; of sailors. The dodger side windows and window coverings make upkeep easier.&nbsp; The cockpit doors can be removed while sailing if desired.<br>&nbsp;<br>In addition to the reefable main sail there is a furrowing jib, a heavy duty storm sail (never used) and a colorful cruising spinnaker sail. A reaching pole is stored along the forward lifelines on the starboard side of the boat.<br>&nbsp;<br>There is a Man-Overboard pole and life preserver combination that mounts to the backstay of the boat.&nbsp; These are in good condition and were only mounted when the boat left the bay area.&nbsp; They were never needed.&nbsp; For the last 10 years the boat has only been used for bay sails. <br>&nbsp;<br>The lifelines around the boat are sturdy and safety hook lines allow for safe movement when on deck. When our children were small netting was installed along the lifelines so no small child or pet could slip overboard.<br>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;<br>Although I don’t anchor anymore this boat is equipped with two Danforth anchors.<br>One is a Danforth 22-S, 20-H used as a bow anchor and the other is a Danforth&nbsp; 22-S, 12-H anchors that can be used as a stern anchor.&nbsp; In addition to the anchors there is also a bow winch and bow roller (currently not mounted) but stored in the forward cabin.&nbsp; These are both in excellent condition.&nbsp; There are mounting dimples in the bow that can be easily redrilled for remounting the winch.&nbsp; Since I was not planning on using the anchors anymore, I did not remount the winch and bow roller after painting the boat the last time.&nbsp; There is plenty of chain and line to connect to the anchor.&nbsp; It feeds up through the chrome fitting at the bow.<br>&nbsp;<br>There is an autopilot on board the Relativity.&nbsp; It is chain driven to the rudder shaft.&nbsp; When it turns the boat you see the wheel turn.&nbsp; Never lock the wheel down when using the autopilot.&nbsp; I believe I installed the new autopilot about 15 years ago.&nbsp; I must confess that since I have not been sailing out of the bay for at least that long the autopilot has not been used.&nbsp; It should work but should be tried out at the dock before heading out with the idea of using it for a long trip.&nbsp; There is a wired remote that plugs in beside the instrument console in the cockpit. &nbsp;The remote is found in the drawer unit in the main salon.<br>&nbsp;<br>All of the cleats around the cockpit are Marinium metal.&nbsp; This is a magnesium-aluminum alloy that will pit a bit but can be easily buffed out.&nbsp; They will truly last a life-time.<br>&nbsp;<br>The davits on the back of the boat can be used to carry a small fiberglass boat or a rubber dingy.&nbsp; The ladder on the back can be lowered for swimming or boarding from a dingy.</p>

<p>There is a large amount of storage built into the teak interior of the boat.&nbsp; Three drawer units, two hanging closets and numerous compartments in each cabin. The aft cabin has a small built in flat screen TV (monitor) that can be used with a satellite receiver or DVD player. &nbsp;The bathroom has large storage areas under the sink and behind the head itself. There is a shower connection for indoor showers with a drain hidden below the easily removed carpeting.&nbsp; Sink drains have lever handles for ease of use.&nbsp; The galley has an extra large icebox with cooling coils installed that can be connected to a compressor if you desire.&nbsp;</p>
