Boat Overview

Boat Description

Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 160LX-S Angler: A Purpose-Built Fishing PWC

1. General Information

The 2025 Jet Ski Ultra 160LX-S Angler is Kawasaki's dedicated fishing variant of its three-passenger Ultra platform, built on the sharper-bowed hull shared with the Jet Ski 310 and finished with a 22.5-degree deadrise for a firmer ride. It carries a base MSRP of $18,899 (plus $630 destination charge) and is aimed equally at anglers who already modify PWCs for fishing and at newcomers who want a ready-to-fish platform straight from the dealer.

2. Construction and Design

Power comes from Kawasaki's naturally aspirated 1,498cc four-stroke, DOHC, four-cylinder engine producing roughly 160 hp, driving a 155 mm axial-flow jet pump rather than a propeller. That jet propulsion lets the Angler run in shallow inshore water without the grounding risk a sterndrive or outboard would face, while Power Modes, Launch Control, Electronic Cruise Control and Kawasaki Smart Reverse with Deceleration (KSRD) give riders finer throttle and stopping control when working a school of fish.

Five-position adjustable handlebars let the rider switch between seated and standing operation, and the flat bench seat is wide enough for two anglers to fish side-by-side rather than in single file.

3. Key Features

• Garmin Chartplotter – A full-colour TFT instrument display paired with a Garmin Echomap-series chartplotter for navigation and, on this fishing variant, bottom/structure reading.

• Five Rod Holders – Four mounted on the stern rack and one on the bow, enough to run multiple lines without hand-holding a rod.

• Removable ORCA Cooler – A 14.5-quart cooler mounted on the stern rack doubles as an insulated catch box or drinks cooler and can be taken off the boat.

• 44.5-Gallon Storage – Well above what most recreational PWCs offer, enough for tackle, safety gear and an extended day on the water.

• Extended Rear Platform – A larger boarding platform that also gives an angler more room to work a rod or net a fish alongside the craft.

4. Summary

The Ultra 160LX-S Angler suits riders who want a jet-propelled platform for shallow inshore or nearshore fishing without giving up the storage, seating and instrumentation of a purpose-built boat. Kawasaki pitches it at both experienced PWC anglers and newcomers moving up from a bare recreational ski, and its shallow-draft jet drive is the main practical advantage over a small outboard skiff for the same kind of water.
