Starcraft Stealth 166 SC: A Compact, Capable Side-Console Aluminium Fishing Boat

1. General Information

The Starcraft Stealth 166 SC, marketed from 2024 as the Stealth 16 SC, is a 4.83-metre side-console aluminium fishing boat built in the United States by Starcraft Marine. It packs the essentials serious anglers look for into a light, affordable and easy-to-tow package, with room for up to six people, a 2.16-metre beam and outboard power of up to 90 hp.

Ideal for lakes, rivers and sheltered inshore waters, the Stealth 166 SC suits weekend anglers, families and first-time owners who want a dependable, low-maintenance boat. As an open day boat it has no cabin or galley; instead, the layout dedicates every centimetre to fishing, storage and casting space.

2. Construction and Design

The hull is built from riveted marine aluminium with double-riveted chine and transom seams, backed by a lifetime warranty on those seams. A 10-degree deadrise at the transom keeps the boat stable at rest and efficient under power, while a dry weight of just 438 kg makes launching and trailering simple. Twice-baked urethane paint gives a durable, glossy finish.

Inside, vinyl-covered cockpit flooring and casting decks are easy to clean after a day on the water. The side console carries easy-to-read lighted gauges, rocker switches and space for a sonar unit, with a tilt-adjustable steering wheel for comfortable driving. Deluxe fishing seats fit any of seven seat bases, so the crew can reposition as conditions change.

3. Key Features

Fishing-ready storage: lockable side rod lockers and in-floor storage for six rods keep tackle secure and organised.

Aerated bow livewell: a 95-litre livewell with bait bucket keeps bait lively and the catch in good condition.

Trolling-motor ready: pre-rigged 12/24 V wiring and a bow battery tray make adding a bow-mount trolling motor quick and simple.

Integrated Gunnel Track System: universal gunwale tracks accept rod holders, cup holders and other accessories wherever they are needed.

Easy to tow: commonly sold as a package with a single-axle trailer, the Stealth 166 SC is ready to explore new waters from day one.

4. Summary

The Starcraft Stealth 166 SC is aimed at anglers who want a practical, durable and affordable aluminium boat that is easy to own. It suits beginners buying their first fishing boat, families who mix fishing with relaxed cruising, and experienced anglers looking for a nimble second boat for smaller lakes. With a 42-litre portable fuel tank, generous storage and proven Starcraft build quality, it delivers dependable days on the water without unnecessary complexity.
