2021 Starcraft Marine Storm 16 DC

Starcraft Storm 16 DC: A Compact Aluminium Fishing Boat Built for All-Day Comfort

1. General Information

The Starcraft Storm 16 DC is a compact, versatile dual-console fishing boat that gives anglers and families a dependable platform for lakes, rivers and sheltered water. At 5.00 m long with a 2.24 m beam, it is small enough to tow behind an ordinary car and launch without fuss, yet it still offers a practical fishing deck and a wrap-around windshield that keeps wind and spray off the helm.

This is a boat for multi-species anglers, weekend fishing families and first-time boat owners who want a capable, affordable runabout that handles both a morning on the water and a relaxed afternoon cruise. It is rated for up to five people and an outboard of up to 90 hp, and a 91 L fuel tank gives it comfortable range for a full day out. Being an open fishing boat, it has no cabin, galley or heads, and the focus stays on deck space, seating and fishability.

2. Construction and Design

The Storm is built around Starcraft's durable aluminium construction and a stable monohull with 12 degrees of deadrise at the transom, a combination that is light, strong and resistant to corrosion. The dual-console layout places the helm and passenger seats behind the wrap-around windshield while leaving the aft deck open for casting and gear, and at about 496 kg dry weight the boat is easy to trailer and economical to power. The 0.51 m transom height and 0.56 m interior depth keep the boat dry and secure in everyday conditions.

3. Key Features

Wrap-around windshield: protects driver and passengers from wind, spray and changing weather, and improves visibility on long runs and early starts.

Durable aluminium hull: a light, tough and low-maintenance hull that handles shallow water, docks and ramps with ease.

Stable 12-degree deadrise: gives a steady platform for fishing at rest and a smoother ride when you move to the next spot.

Easy to tow: with a dry weight of about 496 kg and a 5.00 m length, it suits smaller tow vehicles and simple storage.

Outboard power up to 90 hp: a modest outboard keeps running costs low while giving enough pace for trolling, cruising and getting back to the ramp.

4. Summary

The Starcraft Storm 16 DC suits anglers and families who want an affordable, trailerable aluminium fishing boat with weather protection and honest everyday performance. It is a smart first boat for newcomers and a handy second boat for experienced fishermen who like to keep things simple, from freshwater bass and walleye to a relaxed cruise at sunset.
