The Valhalla Boatworks V-29 Hybrid is a compact centre console that bridges the gap between an offshore fishing boat and a shallow-water bay boat. At just under nine metres, it is small enough to work flats, inshore reefs and sandbars in a single day, yet capable enough for offshore runs, and it doubles as a stylish tender for a larger yacht. Twin outboards of up to 600 hp deliver lively performance: an independent road test with twin Mercury 300 Verado V8s recorded top speeds in the high 40-knot range and an efficient cruise of around 32 knots.

As a day boat, the V-29 has no sleeping accommodation, but its console conceals a stand-up electric head with generous headroom. The V-29 rides on Michael Peters' Stepped-V Ventilated Tunnel running surface, the same hull concept used across Valhalla's centre console range. The double-stepped design draws air beneath the hull to cut friction, while a 22-degree transom deadrise helps her handle chop with confidence and a smooth, stable ride.

On deck, the layout emphasises serviceability and fishability. Flip-up bench seating gives easy access to the bilge and mechanical systems, two insulated in-deck fish boxes are plumbed to a diaphragm pump, and lockable midship boxes swallow up to ten rods. An optional fibreglass hardtop with a six-rod rocket launcher, a choice of large-format Garmin or Simrad electronics and an optional Seakeeper 1 let owners tailor the boat to their style of fishing.
