Boat Description
Westport 130: Long-Range 40-Metre Semi-Displacement Superyacht
1. General Information
The Westport 130 is a 39.6-metre American-built motor yacht that pairs classic superyacht elegance with fast, ocean-capable performance. A 7.9-metre beam gives her generous interior volume, while a draught of only 1.9 metres keeps shallow anchorages and island harbours within reach.
She suits owners and charter guests who want space, privacy and service in equal measure. Ten guests are accommodated in five staterooms, supported by a crew of seven, and the layout offers a classic-style interior with a second saloon forward and a sun deck with spa pool and sun loungers. Powered by twin MTU diesels, she cruises at 24 knots and reaches 28 knots at full power, which keeps itineraries flexible across the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and beyond.
2. Construction and Design
The Westport 130 has a fibreglass (GRP) hull and superstructure, built by Westport on a semi-displacement hull form drawn by naval architect William Garden. Twin-screw propulsion and a CE Category A (Ocean) rating reflect her blue-water ambitions, while the light, stiff composite construction supports her turn of speed.
Westport designed both the exterior styling and the interior, which is characterised by a classic, sophisticated finish. Social spaces include an open terrace forward of the Portuguese bridge, a second saloon above the windlass and a sun deck designed for relaxing outdoors. The design was shortlisted for the World Yachts Trophies 2010 in the Layout category for flybridge yachts over 24 metres.
3. Key Features
- Fast ocean-going performance: Twin MTU 12V4000 diesels deliver a 24-knot cruising speed and a 28-knot top speed.
- Shallow draught: At just 1.9 metres, she can reach anchorages that deeper superyachts cannot.
- Five-stateroom layout: Ten guests enjoy private accommodation, with a crew of seven for attentive service.
- Outdoor living: A sun deck with spa pool and loungers, plus a forward terrace, create varied spaces for relaxing.
4. Summary
The Westport 130 is aimed at owners and charterers who want a fast, shallow-draught superyacht with a classic interior and a full crew. She appeals to those who prize privacy and entertaining space, and who want the range and sea-keeping to cruise far from home.
