With a history spanning over six decades and beginning with founder Bill Munson, Munson Boats have been at the forefront of welded aluminum boat manufacturing. Fueled by a profound insight gained from real-world challenges and the rugged environment of Alaska, Munson Boats integrates exceptional strength and longevity into each vessel. The dedication to utilizing all-welded aluminum plate sets Munson Boats apart in constructing vessels that withstand the toughest conditions without succumbing to rot, rust, or delamination.
After honing his skills in the U.S. Navy and later as a commercial fisherman in Alaska, Bill Munson founded Munson Manufacturing Inc. in 1980, converting deep knowledge into advanced boat designs. This experience gave birth to the iconic Munson V-hull square-bow design, revolutionizing traditional designs with improved functionality and efficiency for high-speed, heavy-load operations.
The evolution of the Munson landing craft and the introduction of the Munson PACKCAT Catamaran Landing Craft showcase the innovative spirit of Munson Boats. These designs emphasize stability, shallow draft, and superior maneuverability, proving essential for diverse applications from military operations to utility and research missions.
