Boat Description
Bahama 31: The Offshore Icon Reimagined
1. General Information
The Bahama 31 is the boat that started it all. Built from the mid-2000s as the first model from Bahama Boat Works, she quickly earned a following among experienced offshore anglers for her seaworthiness and fishability, and the builder is now bringing the original design back with modern fit and finish. At 9.60 m overall she carries an unusually generous 3.35 m beam, giving exceptional stability and fishing room for her size, with a shallow 0.71 m draft.
Some 1,393 L of fuel and a rating of up to 700 hp of outboard power give her serious offshore reach for a 31-footer. The deck is laid out purely for fishing and comfort: a large bow casting platform over a cavernous fish box, a forward seat, a spacious console and a classic captain's bench beneath the hardtop. As an open boat she has no cabins, but the fully lined console houses a head with 1.98 m of headroom.
2. Construction and Design
The 31 retains the hull lines and deck layout of the original, now built with the clean, minimalist detailing for which Bahama is known. Screws are hidden from view, latches and hinges are recessed, and hatches are double sealed. The classic hardtop includes an access hatch and ladder, while a lockable sliding door protects the helm electronics.
Storage is outstanding: a 284 L bow locker, a 439 L fish box under a 2.97 m² casting platform and 1.42 m³ of bilge-access and aft storage. At the stern a walk-through transom door, wrap-around aft bench and rod holders sit above a 250 L livewell and fresh and saltwater bait station, keeping everything an angler needs close at hand.
3. Key Features
Wide, stable hull: A 3.35 m beam on a 9.60 m boat gives a stable fishing platform and a dry, confident ride offshore.
Casting platform and fish box: A large bow casting deck sits over a 439 L fish box and 284 L storage locker.
Livewell and bait station: A 250 L livewell with fresh and saltwater bait station is built into the transom area.
Classic Bahama console: A fully lined console with head and 1.98 m headroom pairs with a wrap-around bench and lockable electronics door.
4. Summary
The Bahama 31 is made for the experienced offshore angler who wants a purpose-built, sea-kindly fishing boat with real range in a manageable size. She meets the need for stability, storage and fishability without excess, and appeals to buyers who value a proven classic design delivered with the modern craftsmanship of the Bahama brand.
