Mangusta Yachts

Within the heart of Tuscany’s seafaring town, Limite sull’Arno, Giuseppe Balducci's story began, leading to the birth of the Overmarine Group after years of experience at a historical shipyard in Viareggio. His vision for something beyond the horizon of traditional shipbuilding steered his path toward entrepreneurship.

In 1985, under the umbrella of the Balducci family, Mangusta was launched. The name, inspired by the mongoose known for its ability to vanquish cobras, symbolized the brand’s ambition to redefine the open yacht category dominated at the time by Tecnomarine's Cobra.

The unveiling of the Mangusta 80 marked a pivotal moment in yacht design. For the first time, an open yacht breached the 80-foot threshold, blending high-speed performance with unparalleled comfort and spaciousness, shattering the accepted compromise between rapidity and luxury. This innovation heralded the inception of the Maxi Open yacht segment, setting Mangusta on a course to become a beacon of maritime excellence.

The year 2007 was a milestone with Mangusta undertaking the ambitious project of crafting one of the planet's largest open yachts, exceeding 50 meters. Enlisting the talents of Stefano Righini, a titan in yacht design, they forged the Mangusta 165. This vessel epitomized the seamless marriage of exceptional speed and indulgent onboard luxury, offering its Owner a villa-like experience at sea.

2012 welcomed a new era with the inauguration of a second shipyard in Pisa, dedicated to the creation of the Mangusta Oceano and Gransport lines. This sprawling 22,000 square meter space was a testament to Mangusta's expanding ambitions, allowing for simultaneous construction of multiple units.

The water welcomed its first metal superyacht from Mangusta in 2016, a 42-meter titan born of the Oceano line. This vessel, destined for adventurers yearning to traverse the globe in elegance, emerged from the collaboration with designer Alberto Mancini, signaling Mangusta's plunge into uncharted territories.

2018 heralded the Mangusta GranSport 54 El Leon's maiden voyage, setting a precedent as the first Mangusta to circumnavigate the globe. Powered by four engines, it assured smooth sailing across every ocean and through all climatic challenges over a span of 3.5 years.

Research and development persisted, culminating in 2021 with the introduction of the new Mangusta Oceano models, the 39 and the 44. These yachts redefined luxury, merging opulent external living spaces with panoramic views. Concurrently, the Maxi Open line evolved with the unveiling of the Mangusta 165 REV, revolutionizing yacht design in collaboration with Lobanov Design.

2022 saw the debut of the Mangusta 165 REV and the Mangusta Oceano 44, both exemplifying advanced maritime living standards. These vessels, combining aesthetic grace with superior performance, underscore Mangusta's commitment to innovation and excellence.
