Seawind Catamarans has been an industry leader in crafting high-performance sailing catamarans and trimarans for over 39 years. Founded by Richard Ward in 1982, the company has steadily grown, driven by a commitment to innovation, safety, and exceptional sailing performance. From humble beginnings with beach catamarans, Seawind has morphed into a maritime giant, known for its robust design philosophy and a fleet that includes the renowned Corsair Marine trimarans.
Seawind’s dedication to sailing excellence began with its founder, Richard Ward, whose background as a seasoned yachtsman shaped the company’s ethos. Competing in prestigious races like the Sydney to Hobart and exploring global waters, Ward infused his firsthand sailing insights into each design, ensuring safety and superior handling.
In October 2010, a pivotal expansion occurred when Seawind acquired Corsair Marine, the leading trailerable trimaran manufacturer. Moving its manufacturing base to Vietnam, Seawind introduced advanced production techniques such as resin infusion and vacuum bagging, enhancing the build quality with lightweight composite structures in fiberglass and carbon.
Today, the Seawind Group employs over 550 staff worldwide and offers more than 15 different models of catamarans and trimarans. Its commitment to both leisure and performance craft has established Seawind as a top name among sailing enthusiasts globally, exporting innovatively designed multihulls across the continents.
Seawind Catamarans continues to push the boundaries of maritime engineering, making its mark with each vessel that sails from its docks.
